With a Swedish brand heritage dating back to the 1960s, Dumle is a brand that is highly recognisable for its distinctive colour. With a large range with multiple SKUs containing core products, sub ranges and limited editions across different formats and print processes. Kinship, Fazer’s preferred packaging design agency, required a partnership with a production agency that could deliver an in-depth understanding of the brand and the design intent.
The in-depth knowledge of each printer site and print process created a workflow that allowed us to lead with our knowledge and expertise. Whereby we could review the packaging designs against all print processes to allow for a holistic approach to artwork and press-accurate proofing for the entire Dumle range of designs – thus ensuring consistency of colour and assets. The print processes included flexo, gravure and offset across three different substrates – clear film laminated to white film, white printed clear film and carton board. The final release was further supported through liaison with individual printer sites and colour targets.
The Dumle brand credentials were presented with accuracy and consistency across all packaging types and flavours within the range, leading to increased sales and a stronger brand presence at fixture. Connecting the expertise and embracing cross-functional collaboration with all parties (design agency, multiple printer sites, client) allowed for a seamless workflow system so that our artwork skill and press-accurate proofing could achieve the desired design intent.
